Episode Overview

David Sandström, having chosen a self-imposed exile in China, finds himself abducted by the People's Liberation Army. They compel him to investigate a lethal outbreak that has claimed 19 lives in a remote village. Teaming up with three local scientists, David uncovers that an ancient bacterium has contaminated the village's water supply. Tension mounts when one scientist opts to test the antidote on herself to accelerate finding a cure. Meanwhile, as David makes his return to Canada, Caroline and Carlos witness a terrifying assault at the International AIDS Conference.
