Episode Overview
Christine initially intends to evade jury duty by claiming her children need her, but Kim’s heartfelt speech about civic duty compels her to attend. Meanwhile, Kim quickly regrets volunteering to watch Dominic and Logan when they prove to be more demanding than anticipated. Christine realizes that her jury experience is far less chaotic than her daily life at home. To alleviate Kim’s burden, Greg decides to bring in Jimmy’s mother, Kitty, for support. However, Kim’s dismay grows when she discovers Kitty is coming, as she’s not fond of her. Kitty's incessant smoking and lack of parenting only add to Kim's exhaustion as she juggles Kitty's errands. Greg eventually confronts Kitty about Kim’s feelings, but it doesn’t yield the result he hoped for. In a twist, Kim discovers it was actually Greg, not Jimmy, who arranged Kitty’s visit in a misguided attempt to help.
