Yes, Dear (2000)
S03E16 Hustlin' Hughes
Episode Overview
Jimmy is determined to expose Big Jimmy's fabrications about coaching baseball legends like Johnny Bench in the minors, especially since Dominic still believes the tall tales just as he did as a kid. Recalling the disappointment he felt upon discovering the truth at 13, Jimmy confronts his father about the lies. Despite the absence of any coaching records or memorabilia in the Hughes' attic, Big Jimmy remains adamant about his claims. At a baseball card convention, Greg angrily confronts his mother for disposing of his prized collection, while Jimmy attempts to negate the misguided advice Big Jimmy offered Dominic. To his surprise, Greg encounters Johnny Bench, who confirms that Big Jimmy did coach him in Buffalo. Jimmy finds himself humbled when Greg introduces him to Johnny, who then introduces them to other legends, Ernie Banks and Frank Robinson, all coached by Big Jimmy.
