Erica and Will's bond is strained by his recent cancer diagnosis, Pat wrestles with her discontented marriage, and Miriam must act quickly to prevent David from joining the military. Meanwhile, the arrival of newcomer Teresa Fenchurch doesn't go smoothly, but her blunder unexpectedly attracts a charming RAF officer to the village.
