During a ransom drop for his abducted daughter, a man tragically meets his end when a bale hook strikes him. As Chris and Rita delve into the case, they gradually uncover that the kidnapping might have been a fabrication. Their investigation takes a dark turn when each new suspect they encounter ends up dead. Amidst the chaos, Chris also struggles to carve out time to prepare a pasta dinner for his new girlfriend, Ursula.
