In the near future, deep in Antarctica, a mysterious seed-pod is discovered after being trapped in ice for 20,000 years. The Doctor and Sarah arrive to look into the find, but they arrive just in time to witness the pod infecting a scientist, unleashing a perilous danger to all animal life on the planet.
