Episode Overview

Cassie Peters is expecting a baby and has decided to put her child up for adoption. While neither Craig, the father, nor Joanne, her mother, are there for the birth, Monica is present, disguising herself as a nurse. After holding her daughter, Cassie has a change of heart and flees, much to the dismay of the Feldmans, the adoptive parents. As Monica and Tess look after Cassie and the baby, they receive news from Adam that the infant is seriously ill. Monica encourages Cassie to take her child to the hospital, where Cassie realizes she isn’t prepared for the demands of motherhood. After this revelation, she returns home and entrusts the baby to the Feldmans. During the infant dedication, Mrs. Feldman announces they’ve named their daughter Faith. Cassie requests a moment alone with her baby and plays the flute, honoring their family's musical legacy.
