Episode Overview

Max Rigney arrives at college, accompanied by his father, Sam, who beams with pride as he shows him the PIG House, the fraternity he once led. They meet Rafael, who introduces himself as a fellow student, while Tess and Andrew point out that Sam is footing Max's tuition on the condition that he attends this school, joins the fraternity, and follows a specific course load. During their campus tour, Sam encounters Monica and is suddenly hit with a troubling memory. Later, he learns that Monica is a visiting philosophy professor and decides Max should avoid her, especially since he has mapped out Max's classes. However, that evening, Rafael encourages Max to take a philosophy class with Monica, which Sam hadn’t approved. Max shares the news with his mother over the phone, revealing he might not join PIG after all, feeling the urge to forge his own path. Meanwhile, Sam makes a two-hour drive that night.
