Episode Overview
Fran returns from shopping to find Mama all dressed up, prompting her to ask, "Who died?" Sonya echoes the question, and Mama reveals she has a date with an old flame she hasn’t seen in 40 years. Despite her family's protests, Mama goes out with him. After a fun-filled night that leaves Fran anxious, Woody invites Thelma to the lake, just like they did decades ago, and she surprises everyone by agreeing. The family, especially Vint, voices their concerns, but Mama decides to go. Once at the cabin, Mama gets jittery and stirs up an argument reminiscent of their past. After talking it over with a beer, they both realize they made the right choice years ago and return home sooner than expected.
