Episode Overview
Ellen convinces Mama to host Mayor Tutwiller's re-election press conference at their home. During the event, the Mayor begins discussing the treatment of senior citizens in Raytown, leading to a heated argument with Mama, who he ultimately challenges to run against him. The next morning, Mama’s remarks about the Mayor make the local news, and although Ellen insists she won't run, Mama decides to enter the race. The Mayor then invites Mama to a debate on KRAY TV, hoping to catch her off guard. However, she surprises everyone and leaves him scrambling for an excuse to exit the debate early. On election night, the entire family gathers around the TV to watch the results. As Mama initially trails in the vote count, they gradually drift off to sleep, only to wake up to the news that Mama has won.
