Episode Overview
On Mama's birthday, she insists on keeping things low-key—no cake, no party, and no gifts. Instead, she wants the family to help clear out the attic, believing they can finish the task in just a few hours. However, Vint, Sonya, Ellen, and Naomi all come up with ridiculous excuses to avoid the chore, leaving Buzz, who can't think of an excuse, to reluctantly agree to help. While they work, Buzz asks Mama to share memories from her 30th birthday party. A flashback reveals Mama preparing for the celebration, mistakenly believing Carl is set to receive a big promotion. She orders a large deep freeze, only for Grandma Crowley to call and say she can't make the birthday cake. When Carl arrives to reveal he didn’t get the promotion, the deep freeze is delivered, leaving Mama with a fruitcake topped with a paper heart from Vint. Later, she learns that Carl actually turned down the promotion after Burt Wembley stops by to express
