Episode Overview
Mama accidentally overlooks one of Bubba's phone messages but stubbornly refuses to acknowledge that she should jot them down, despite having done so for Naomi. Iola suggests they buy an answering machine, but Mama dismisses the idea, thinking it would be too expensive—until Iola mentions she has a free one available. Meanwhile, Naomi brings home a stray dog, and she and Vint work to find it a new family while keeping it a secret from Mama. They stash it in the garage, but Mama keeps hearing its barks, leading to her belief that she’s losing her sanity. Eventually, after intercepting several phone messages, Mama starts to think she’s being sent away due to her supposed craziness. However, the truth comes out, and the dog ends up finding a home at the senior center.
