As Earl sets out to check off item 24 on his list ("Stole a red 'Take-a-number' machine"), Randy attempts to dissuade him by reminding him of their New Year's Eve 1999 adventure when they acquired the machine. Meanwhile, Darnell persuades the group that Y2K will bring about the apocalypse, leading them to embrace the idea that they will be the last survivors on the planet.
