Serena’s grandmother declares that Serena must attend the Debutante Ball, but CeCe disapproves of Dan as her escort, making her feelings known and creating tension between Serena and Dan. Despite their breakup, Nate invites Blair to the ball, but jealousy creeps in as he starts to worry that Blair might be involved with someone else. Meanwhile, Jenny faces a tough choice: she can either support her mother at an art opening or pursue her own aspirations at the Debutante Ball, despite her parents' disapproval of her attending.
