Nate faces a dilemma when Diana asks him to compromise his principles. Meanwhile, Dan uncovers the identity of the person behind the publication of his book and looks for assistance to prevent it from being released, only to find himself in the limelight regardless. Chuck steps in to help Dan accept his situation, while Dan works to assist Chuck in overcoming his emotional barriers. Additionally, Serena and Charlie arrive back on the Upper East Side after their time in California.
