Episode Overview
Title: Retrieve the Phantom Sunflowers! (Part One) Plot: Art dealer Hachisu and museum curator Abukawa enlist the GetBackers to recover a mysterious collection of thirteen Van Gogh sunflower paintings. Ban and Ginji agree to take on the challenge. That evening, they begin tracking Clayman’s movements. Meanwhile, Himiko, working for Clayman, cleverly leads the GetBackers towards their target by using doppelgängers of herself. Clayman and Himiko watch with amusement as the GetBackers follow. Ban falls victim to Himiko's toxic perfume, controlling him like a marionette. He briefly chokes Ginji but urges him to use his lightning powers to escape. Captured and bound in Clayman’s hideout, they soon break free and are confronted with the paintings, as Clayman questions their authenticity.
