As a string of bodies linked to Booth's old Army unit turns up across Washington, D.C., he is forced to confront his past in a race to catch the murderer before he becomes the next target. At the same time, Brennan's father, Max, conceals a grave medical operation from her, prompting Brennan to wrestle with issues of trust, her father's health, and the looming threat to her family's safety.
