Episode Overview
The episode begins at Wormsloe Plantation, where the remnants of a 1736 home stand by the Inland Passage, representing Savannah's colonial history. Meanwhile, at the project house, a new water main is being installed on Gordon Street. Inside, project manager Mark Fitzpatrick is busy fitting historically accurate windows with true-divided-light and single-thickness glass. The high-velocity air-conditioning ductwork and air-handlers have also arrived. Viewers get to explore the Green-Meldrim house, discovering various techniques used to stay cool before the advent of electricity. On the Flemings' house, a new terne metal roof is paired with a fluid-applied acrylic and polyester mesh roof. A pull-down attic stair is added, and outside, masons are reusing local "Savannah Grey" bricks from the original building to enhance the new addition's veneer.
