Episode Overview

In the last days of Savannah, we meet with a preservation specialist dedicated to restoring the Pulaski Monument in Monterey Square, which is succumbing to acid rain, sulfur, and bacteria damage. At a nearby home, we find owner Mills Fleming busy setting up his new security system using a touch-tone phone. Blacksmith Johnny Smith is busy installing a wrought-iron railing for the front steps. Inside, lighting designer Cyndee Sessoms presents the stunning sand-cast and crystal chandelier fixtures selected for the house, while Mills admires the newly installed cabinetry and stainless-steel appliances in the kitchen. The granite countertops are in place, and we visit the local shop where they were crafted. On the main staircase, we examine the brass dust corners, a vintage hardware feature designed to prevent dust buildup. Outside, paint contractor Parker Chapman ensures everything is prepared for the final day. The morning begins with Savannah's mayor, Floyd Adams.
