The Tunnel (2013)
S21E12 The Billerica House - 12
Episode Overview
As we arrive at the house, we see the final delivery of wallboard being taken into the basement. Inside, the wallboard is already in place, and plastering is underway. Homeowner Dick Silva shows us around the upper floor, where the rooms are beginning to take their final form. The building has been insulated with open-cell polyicynene foam, which Steve previously discussed with its Canadian inventor. Meanwhile, Tom and Norm are in the workshop crafting the last kitchen and bath cabinet frames, while landscape contractor Roger Cook collaborates with stonemason Roger Hopkins to shape granite steps for a new pathway from the driveway. Tom demonstrates the cementitious shingle panels being installed on the garage walls, and metal fabricator Tom McGregor is working on a lead-coated copper roof for the kitchen bay window. To wrap up, Tom and Norm assemble a fir face-frame for the bathroom vanity using pocket-screw technology.
