This Old House commemorates its 25th anniversary by revisiting its origins. The season kicks off with Kevin and Norm exploring the show's inaugural project in Dorchester, Massachusetts—a house that was acquired, renovated, and sold in 1979. This year, the team will also be homeowners, as part of the proceeds from the anniversary project will fund a new scholarship for the building arts. To find the perfect house, Norm leads Kevin to Carlisle, Massachusetts, a picturesque New England town 20 miles from Boston. After reviewing various properties, they select a charming 1849 Greek Revival-style farmstead that requires significant renovations to accommodate a contemporary family.
