Episode Overview
In this episode, master carpenter Norm Abram and host Kevin O'Connor begin at a little-known memorial dedicated to a local pilot who heroically gave his life for the community in 1954. Kevin joins general contractor Tom Silva to lift the front deck of the second floor, revealing significant rot, active carpenter ant infestations, and a weakened structure from years of improper repairs. Plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey installs new thermostatic valves for improved heating control for the homeowners. Norm guides homeowner Chris Flynn through the process of removing a damaged stained glass window, while Kevin heads to Emanuel Genovese’s studio to learn about its restoration. Finally, landscape contractor Roger Cook collaborates with certified arborist Matt Foti to trim a street tree, enhancing light and water access for both apartments.
