Master carpenter Norm Abram joins host Kevin O'Connor on a ferry ride across the Mississippi River to Algiers Point, revisiting the site of the first This Old House project in New Orleans from 1990 to evaluate its resilience after Hurricane Katrina. At the 2008 project in Holy Cross, plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey guides Norm through the home's plumbing design and discusses HVAC solutions with contractor Raul Mena. In Broadmoor, Norm and Kevin assist the non-profit Rebuilding Together in installing windows for Sonia St. Cyr, a homeowner with mobility challenges. Meanwhile, in Musicians' Village, Branford Marsalis gives Kevin a tour and introduces him to young saxophonist Calvin Johnson, who performs "When The Saints Go Marching In" with Branford. Despite the devastation surrounding the jobsite, landscape architect Brian Sublette collaborates with Rashida to create a plan for her yard and gardens.
