Creegan and Taylor make significant progress in their investigation when they discover the lifeless body of the fourth victim, headteacher Claire Logan. They quickly uncover that Lyn Sotherby, the best friend of victim Debbie Lewis, is actually Susan Etchells in disguise. Their pursuit leads them to an abandoned hospital in Lincolnshire, where Susan has another captive. In a bold move, Creegan risks his own life to ensure the hostage's safety, leaving Taylor feeling frustrated and worried about his partner's reckless decision.
