Episode Overview

Achilles initially declines to join the battle but permits Patroclus to don his armor and lead the Myrmidons into combat to aid the Greeks. Mistaking Patroclus for Achilles, the Trojans begin to fall back. After slaying Sarpedon, the son of Zeus, Patroclus gains confidence and advances towards Troy. However, he is soon repelled by Apollo and ultimately killed by Hector, the eldest son of King Priam. When Achilles learns of Patroclus's death, he is overcome with grief and swears to take revenge. His mother, Thetis, assures him she will return the next day with new armor and weapons.
