Frustrated by Tom's rigid rules, Nancy, Susan, and Joannie decide to find their own apartment, realizing that Tom struggles to accept their independence. Meanwhile, David purchases a new truck and offers to sell his van to Tommy. Tom becomes angry when he discovers that Abby has lent the girls money to help them secure their new place.
