Episode Overview

In Chicago, hitman Stuart Tilden gravely injures a businessman while on the hunt for his real target. The FBI responds with a vigorous investigation to thwart his plan, even enlisting Assistant Director Arthur Ward to make a field arrest. The intended victim is Richard Ghormley, a former associate of a criminal who worries Ghormley possesses too much insider knowledge. As Christmas Eve approaches, Ghormley is frantically trying to return home from a business trip in San Francisco, unaware that Tilden is lying in wait. Meanwhile, Colby and other agents manage to rescue Ghormley's children, while Erskine confronts Tilden directly.
