Supergran steps in to help The Great Renaldo, whose real name is Ronald MacDonald, and his mother, Clinging Ivey. Previously a celebrated magician, Renaldo’s confidence was shattered when Fabulous O'Finnigan deceived him, stealing his act and the audience's applause. To restore his self-esteem, Supergran suggests they use Inventor Black's innovative Manual Hypnotizer on Renaldo. At the same time, The Scunner, determined to undermine the Tartan Tornado, extends an invitation to Fabulous O'Finnigan for Renaldo's comeback performance.
