Episode Overview
Karen is interviewing at the mall for a jeans advertisement, where the photographer is on the lookout for a girl who can showcase the jeans with a bit of attitude. Surprisingly, Al ends up landing the role, which frustrates Karen. She becomes angry with Carol for not giving her preferential treatment over her step-sibling. Carol feels hurt and reminds Karen that their family should be united. Understanding the situation, Karen manages to reassure Al with a heartfelt "family" pep talk. Meanwhile, Cody believes he’s under a strange curse that brings him luck in everything, which drains the excitement from his life. When Frank forces him to play poker, the so-called curse kicks in again. Cody wins $1,000 and a trip to the Bahamas, but he finally breaks the curse after suffering a mishap in his van.
