Queen Anne sits confined in the Tower, anticipating her impending execution. Although the king granted her request for a specific executioner, the man is late, forcing a delay in the execution. Meanwhile, King Henry turns his attention to Jane Seymour, as his marriage to Anne has been annulled. He is eager for Jane to bear him a legitimate son, hoping to secure the male heir he desperately desires.
