After Maddie doesn't pass the entrance exam for the gifted program, she finds herself in "The B-Squad." Feeling responsible for her friend's setback, Kate takes the initiative to create an unforgettable adventure for the group. At the same time, Ben unexpectedly reconnects with a former college friend who had taken one of his business concepts. Meanwhile, BJ's mother, Wendy, arrives in town and has a surprising first encounter with Buddy.
