What appears to be a straightforward case of domestic violence takes an unexpected turn. Deb outperforms Carter, who has been exhausted from preparing for a big presentation all night. Peter announces to Jackie that he has enlisted assistance for his mother. Initially, Kayson's reprimand of Susan is rejected, but she gets an opportunity to demonstrate her skills when Kayson becomes a patient. Meanwhile, Dr. Ross encounters Diane Leeds from risk management and her son, Jake.
