John Carter ventures back to the Congo to recover Luka Kovac's remains, only to discover that the region where Luka met his end remains perilously unsafe. Teaming up with Gillian, they manage to catch a ride with Debbie, a Red Cross worker heading into the conflict zone. Through a series of flashbacks, we witness Luka and his fellow humanitarian workers being captured by rebel forces, facing execution one by one until only Luka endures. As devastation engulfs eastern Congo, Carter uncovers the truth about Luka’s fate and grapples with a significant choice.
