Meanwhile, Susan cares for a homeless couple, discovering that one has transmitted HIV to the other. Doug's estranged father unexpectedly arrives, rekindling old tensions. Carter fuels gossip about a supposed romance between Mark and Susan. In a spontaneous move, Mark decides to purchase a motorcycle. Additionally, Loretta, a sex worker, learns she has cervical cancer.
