When the body of a competitive gamer is found in a grease truck, Brennan and Booth are summoned to look into the matter. The victim, Steve Rifton, was known in the gaming world for achieving a flawless score on a popular video game. He capitalized on his fame by partnering with a gaming referee and charging fans to try their luck on the same machine where he excelled. With numerous rivals and contentious business dealings, the Jeffersonian team must sift through a long list of suspects who might want to end Rifton's gaming dominance. Meanwhile, Hodgins, Sweets, and intern Colin Fischer take turns waiting in line for tickets to a movie premiere.
