Episode Overview

Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park, Maine, stands at 1,532 feet, making it the tallest point along the North Atlantic coast. At certain times of the year, it’s the first place in the U.S. to greet the sunrise. The summit, featuring pink granite, overlooks a landscape of spruce and pitch pine trees. Scattered among the granite are small sub-alpine plants like cinquefoil, along with twisted trees, wild blueberries, and various boulders. The panoramic view of the Maine archipelago is breathtaking, with the Cranberry Islands prominently visible to the southwest.
