Columbo (1971)

Episode Overview

A renowned psychiatrist leverages a visit to his own physician as a cover while he contacts his residence, where his wife's paramour lies dead. This call initiates a behavioral conditioning process involving his dogs, linked to the last word spoken by the victim: Rosebud. Upon Columbo's investigation, the psychiatrist appears remarkably sympathetic when officers mention the possibility of euthanizing his pets. However, Columbo can't help but notice the dogs' unusually amiable demeanor and the telephone dangling off its receiver, sparking his curiosity.
