Ward puts in an offer on a house in a nearby town, and Beaver is convinced that they will soon be relocating. Excited by the prospect, he shares the news with his classmates, prompting them to organize a farewell party and present him with gifts. However, when the deal unexpectedly falls apart, Beaver is left with the difficult task of informing his friends that he won't be leaving after all.
