Takauji Ashikaga, who was once seen as the protector of the Kamakura shogunate, initiates a revolt that swiftly brings about its downfall. Meanwhile, Tokiyuki’s elder brother, Kunitoki, manages to escape detection from Takauji’s loyal warriors and is taken in by their uncle, Muneshige Godaiin, for safekeeping.
