Episode Overview
Chandler and Ross are thrilled to hear that their old college buddy Gandalf, known for his legendary parties, will be visiting. Their excitement quickly fades when Gandalf cancels his trip. Undeterred, they enlist Joey to throw their own celebration. Meanwhile, Rachel faces a setback as Joanna undermines her chances for a promotion. In a different storyline, Monica steps in as a food critic for a local paper, forcing her to choose between a reliable head chef position at a restaurant she criticized or continuing her catering venture with Phoebe.
