Episode Overview
Merle Telford, an innocent and socially awkward young woman, is on the brink of turning 21 and coming into a significant inheritance. Eager to escape her guardians, she hopes to elope with Danny Pierce as soon as she gets her money. However, Danny is actually a cunning opportunist, with Merle's so-called friend, Gina Gilbert, aiding him in his scheme. Aware of Merle's intentions, her guardians enlist Paul Drake to prevent her from running away during her birthday celebration. When a murder occurs at the party, all eyes turn to Merle as the main suspect.
