After bravely rescuing a group of children from a blazing accident, Kimball sustains injuries and is taken in by a couple who turns out to be the town's sheriff and his spouse. While he is on the mend, a news piece highlighting his courageous actions gains national attention. The ever-vigilant Lt. Gerard catches wind of the article and promptly travels to the small town with the intent to apprehend Kimball.
