Episode Overview
Jo is charged with murder after Reed's death, leading to tension between Jake and Amanda. Jake is furious when Amanda hesitates to assist Jo, fearing her financial connection to Reed could implicate her. Eventually, Amanda changes her mind and hires a skilled family lawyer for Jo, using her apartment building as collateral for bail. The charges are later dropped when the D.A. realizes Jo acted in self-defense but wanted to extract information about Reed’s associates. Meanwhile, Alison accepts Billy's proposal, but when Billy considers confessing their one-night stand to her, he doesn’t go through with it. Instead, Amanda reveals the secret to Jake. At the engagement party, Jake punches Billy after being asked to be the best man. Amanda explains everything to Alison, who is shocked but ultimately forgives Billy. Meanwhile, Sydney continues to win over everyone at the hospital and persuades the chief of staff to allow Michael back in surgery, despite his objections, declaring that they are a couple.
