Car 54, Where Are You? (1961)

Episode Overview

Toody and Muldoon's impressive nine-year partnership surprises a researcher, who learns that typical prowl car duos usually last only about 16 months before needing a change. The NYPD management engineer believes that if he can uncover their secret and duplicate it, it could alleviate a lot of issues for the higher-ups. However, the duo's precinct colleagues are not interested in the realities of life in Car 54. Even more concerning is the idea of New York's elite potentially replicating the lighthearted Toody and the serious, thoughtful Muldoon.
