As King David lay on his deathbed, he chose to anoint his youngest son, Solomon, to inherit the throne of Israel. Meanwhile, Adonijah, his older brother, plotted to seize the crown for himself. Displaying both wisdom and bravery, Solomon faced Adonijah, declaring that he would not rule in fear. He challenged him, saying, "If your intention is to kill me, do it now. Otherwise, return home and never again oppose God's wishes."
