Feeling neglected as his friends Lewis, Oswald, and Kate focus on their careers, Drew is further disheartened when Steve is unavailable due to plans with Mimi. Just when things seem bleak, a menacing stray dog appears, attempting to snatch a sandwich from Drew and Speedy. After being stood up for lunch, Drew finds some common ground with Mr. Wick, but their budding friendship quickly falters when Wick proposes overzealous plans for togetherness. Desperate for company, Drew fabricates an emergency to get his friends to gather, only to reveal he wants to play Risk. Their plans are interrupted by the return of the stray dog, now with a pack. The dogs besiege the house, severing phone lines, and force everyone to retreat to the basement. There, they pass the time by diving into Drew's old journal and singing songs.
