Upon returning from their summer vacations, the kids begin to doubt Cate’s intentions after noticing her new hairstyle and a recently purchased bed. Kerry, who spent her summer traveling in Europe, had a brief romance with a boy, stirring jealousy in Bridget and leaving Kerry conflicted about her relationship with Kyle. As the new Student Body President, Bridget is further convinced that popularity rules her life after a trip to Washington, D.C. Meanwhile, Jim, feeling down after his failed attempts to win back his wife in Florida, faces challenges as Rory tries to help him quit smoking, especially when Jim learns that C.J. played a role in their separation.
