Third Watch (1999)

Episode Overview

While Bosco and his mother Rose are shopping late at a supermarket, a fire suddenly erupts. Bosco manages to save most of the customers but is unable to rescue a young mother who returns for her purse. After Jimmy suggests the fire may have been set intentionally, Bosco becomes convinced he spotted the arsonist among the crowd. Sgt. Cruz assigns Bosco and Faith to the Anti-Crime Unit temporarily to investigate. The following night, at another supermarket fire, Faith records license plate numbers, while Cruz captures photos of the scene, and Bosco apprehends the man he recognized. Although the suspect turns out to be a fire enthusiast, Faith and Cruz eventually identify the real arsonist: the son of an NYFD arson investigator. Meanwhile, a troubled Sully remains on leave, struggling with alcohol and couch-surfing at Ty's and Carlos' place.
