Four troubled teenagers arrive at one of America’s most notorious prisons to engage in the S.Q.U.I.R.E.S. program, the oldest youth diversion initiative run by inmates. This program, which stands for San Quentin's Utilization of Inmate Resources, Experiences & Studies, offers the teens a stark glimpse into prison life. They visit the only male Death Row in the state, endure taunts from inmates in overcrowded cells, and confront the ever-present threat of violence and harm lurking around every corner.
