Episode Overview

Chris encounters architect Nic Ballara, who has ambitious plans for a house perched on a steep 45-degree slope with stunning views of Wellington. Nic, undeterred by the challenges of the steep terrain, is set on constructing a family home for himself, his wife Callie, and their 12-year-old daughter. The site, located in earthquake-prone Wellington, seems nearly unbuildable, but Nic is confident he has a plan and is eager to create his first home. However, the journey ahead promises to be fraught with logistical challenges as this Grand Design faces an uphill struggle.
